2012 London - Chris Ofili
Chris Ofili (1968-)
60 x 80cm
This Chris Ofili work was one of the official posters for the 2012 Olympic games held in London. Unveiled alongside works by Tracy Emin and Bridget Riley, it is a noteworthy contribution to a collection recognising the creative spirit of the games. This spirit was on full display at an exhibition at Tate Britain during the Olympics and Paralympics.
Ofili, a Turner prize winner and former Young British Artist, is known for his expressive and often provocative technique and subject matter. He was born in Manchester before moving to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago in 2005.
