1972 Olympics Poster - Archery

This archery poster is one of the many excellent examples of Otl Aicher's design work created for the 1972 games held in Munich. The graphic imagery of the 1972 Games is well regarded. Posters were high on the agenda for the Olympic Committee and planning was underway as early as 1967 to produce a sport series using the best photographers and printers of the day. Aicher oversaw every aspect of the project, bringing his keen eye for design and typography into the campaign. For this reason, it remains a memorable and iconic collection of midcentury artwork.
