Colourful midcentury travel poster promoting coach tours for all the family.

Thomas Tilling commenced his commercial empire in London in 1847 and over time became a major bus operator. In 1948 Tilling Group was nationalised under the auspices of the British Transport Commission and was later absorbed into the National Bus Company in 1969.

Tillings (as they remained colloquially known) were quite frugal with expenditure on publicity. Private Hire, express coach services and coach tours received some attention, but publicity was confined to these small panels posted in buses, bus side adverts and larger posters for display in bus stations and enquiry offices.
