Breckenridge Downhill Skier
53 x 76cm (21 x 30")
Breckenridge ski resort opened in 1961. The Colorado town is at the base of the Rocky Mountains. It's known for its year round alpine activities and Gold Rush history.
The easy style of this downhill skier, with his Norwegian sweater, was typical of the period. In fact Breckenridge was founded by the skier in this poster - Trygve Berge -together with his business partner, Sigurd Rockne. Berge competed in the 1956 Olympics at Cortina d'Ampezzo and was Norwegian Downhill Champion in 1956.
