Air France Poster - France

Strong graphics in this Air France travel poster by Jean Carlu from 1958. Starting his career in 1919 as an illustrator, Carlu first produced posters in cubist and art deco styles. He was one of the first poster designers to recognise the importance of simple forms and expressive colours in promotional campaigns.

Since 1933, Air France has had a long and illustrious history producing bold and eye-catching advertising campaigns. By employing notable artists, often with their own distinctive styles, they have managed to capture the romance and wonder of travel with some beautiful posters, including this one by Jean Carlu.
