Air Afrique Sahara Airline Poster
The artist Jean Dessirier produced a fantastic series of travel posters for Air Afrique in the 1960's before turning to sculpture in the 1980's. In this dynamic image for the Sahara, he evokes the heat and expanse of the desert and the nomadic tribes that inhabit it.
Air Afrique was conceived in 1960 as a subsidiary of Air France and UTA. Jointly owned by 11 newly independent former French colonies, it continued serving the continent until its demise in 2002.
