This poster was produced by the Indian Government in 1958 to encourage tourism to the sub continent, possibly to Kerala as this is the region famous for Kathakali.

Kathakali is a form of classical Indian dance, distinguished by the elaborate make-up, colourful costumes and spectacular masks that the mainly male dancers wear.
