SNCF Poster - Dauphiné
The Dauphiné is a former province in south-eastern France, whose area now roughly corresponds to Isére, Drôme and Hautes-Alpes.
Paul Kelsch was commissioned to paint this image shortly after the end of the Second World War. It shows the peaceful setting of a mountain village and is one of several posters produced at the time to encourage travel and restore a sense of normality after the events of the war years.
