Corsica is an island off the coast of the south of France. A single chain of mountains makes up two thirds of the island. Renowned for its light, it has long been the haunt of artists. Matisse visited on his honeymoon and, captivated by the scenery, decided to move to the capital, Ajaccio, in 1898. It was here that he developed his use of colour in radical new ways. This beautiful poster shows the mountain village of Nonza, with its ancient tower and steps leading down towards the beach.
