Formed in 1921, Greyhound Motors operated buses in Bristol. A coach service to London was inaugurated in 1925 and the company was purchased by Bristol Tramways in 1928 and in due course the company (now titled Bristol Greyhound) assumed operation of all Bristol express coach services and in 1934 was a founder member of the Associated Motorways marketing group of operators based in Cheltenham. As a member of the Tilling Group and nationalised in 1948, Bristol Greyhound kept its identity until 1970 when National Bus Company introduced its corporate white coach livery and the respected identity of Bristol Greyhound was smothered.
